On August 11, 2026, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of Georgia and the Georgian National Film Center, the Embassy of Georgia in Malaysia and the Malaysian branch of the European Union Institutes for Culture (EUNIC Malaysia) co-organized the screening of the movie “URSUS,” directed by Otar Shamatava, at GSC movie theater.

Eighteen years have passed since the full-scale military aggression launched by the Russian Federation against Georgia. In August 2008, disregarding the fundamental norms and principles of international law, Russia carried out the illegal occupation of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region - inalienable parts of Georgia’s territory - and recognised their so-called independence.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia welcomes the decision adopted on 21 July 2026 by the Cabinet of the Republic of Naoero on the revocation of diplomatic relations "between the Republic of Naoero and the Republic of South Ossetia also known as the State of Alania," as well as "between the Republic of Naoero and the Republic of Abkhazia."
