PRIME MINISTER IRAKLI KOBAKHIDZE HAS INTRODUCED THE NEWLY APPOINTED FOREIGN MINISTER, MAKA BOTCHORISHVILI, TO THE MINISTRY’S TEAM

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, held a meeting with the senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to formally introduce the newly appointed Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, to the ministry’s team. During the meeting, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes to Minister Botchorishvili, emphasizing her role in upholding Georgia's national interests.

Maka Botchorishvili expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister for his trust and underscored the importance of the ministry team’s professionalism and commitment to addressing challenges and advancing Georgia’s national interests. While outlining her future plans, the Minister emphasized her readiness to engage with representatives from each department to discuss priority areas of the Ministry’s activities and related action plans.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister addressed the challenges facing the country and outlined the foreign policy priorities of the ruling team for the coming years. Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted the government’s ambitious foreign policy agenda, particularly its focus on advancing integration into the European Union. According to the Prime Minister, over 90% of the commitments outlined in the Association Agenda and the Free Trade Agreement with the EU will be fulfilled by 2028. Additionally, he underlined the importance of rebooting relations with the United States, strengthening cooperation with other partner countries, and addressing regional security challenges. 

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the ministry's team and the former Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili, for their dedicated work. He also recognized the vital role that each employee plays in advancing the country's development. The meeting concluded with a discussion, during which the Prime Minister addressed questions raised by the ministry staff.
