Video conference was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Malaysia
On May 11, 2023, a video conference was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Malaysia. The main purpose of the meeting was to take stock of the specific issues to be discussed during the second round of political consultations slated to be held in Tbilisi in 2023.
The video conference was attended by Mr. Alexander Nalbandov, Director of the Department of Asia-Pacific, MFA Georgia; Ms. Irma Kavtaradze, Deputy Director of the Department and Ms. Salome Mamaladze, Counsellor, Shalva Datiashvili, Charge d’Affairs a.i. of Georgia, YBhg. Dato’ Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Undersecretary of the Europe Division, MFA Malaysia; Mr. Mohd Yunus Ibrahim, Principal Assistant Secretary Europe Division and Mr. Ahmad Hafizuddin Zainal Abidin, Assistant Secretary Europe Division.
During the meeting the sides overviewed the current issues and future prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The sides discussed political, economic, inter-parliamentary relations, as well as issues related to development of a legal framework and cooperation within the international organizations.
